Permutit G wird mit 10% iger KCl-Lösung ausgetauscht, gut ausgewaschen, getrocknet und anschließend 1 Stunde im Kammerofen auf 650℃ erhitzt. 50g des auf diese Weise erhaltenen Kaliumpermutits werden 1/2 Stunde mit einer Lösung von 1g KOH in 250 ml Wasser bei Zimmertemperatur gerührt. Dann dekantiert man die lösung ab und wäscht den Katalysatoräger zweimal mit Wasser.
