Folgende Anforderungen werden an den Werkstoff der Heizplatten gestellt: hohe Wärmeleitfähigkeit, geringe volumetrische Wärmekapazität, hoher Emissionsgrad bei Temperaturen bis zu 1000°C, mechanische Stabilität und geringe Neigung zur Oxidation. Inconel 600, eine Nickel-Legierung, wird diesen Anforderungen optimal gerecht und wird zur Fertigung der 4 Heizplatten (Heizplatte HP, seitliche Schutzplatte SSP, obere Schutzplatte OSP, zusätzliche Heizplatte ZHP) verwendet.
