To unload an empty core, the transport arms move unloaded between the unwind pedestals. At first the pneumatically operated locking levers close, the cones open and release the core. Then the unwind pedestals move apart and the transport arms move back to loading position. The core can be removed here and the transport system can be loaded with a new parent roll.
